Mama Cooper's Birthday
Today is my Mother's birthday! Yes, she had eight children and yes, she was Missouri Mother of the Year! But all those things are a distant second and third to me! She was My Mother!! I might have been last in the line of births but she always made me feel I was first in her heart!
She gave me life at birth and she, singlehandedly, restored my life when I went home to Charleston, at age 50, crushed and disgraced by the circumstances of my life! She guarded me from everyone like a mother hen! She sat on my bed each morning and made me repeat with her, "This is the day that the Lord has made! We will rejoice and be glad in it!"
Well, Mama, thanks to you and only you, I came through it! You restored my soul and gave me life anew!

Chinese Hot Pot
What a huge crowd we had last night at A. b Cooper ministries last night for Chinese Hot Pot! It was great! Dr Tom Harte came and interviewed Sandy Moore "the Cookie Lady" for a future column! It made me think of how proud my Dad would be of this ministry!
I told the story about when my brother was in Baylor and Mama read in her Mission magazine about a man named Marshall Ku from China who was at Baylor also and They told Jim to bring him home with him for Christmas! Thus, began our long friendship with him! A name in a mission book could be turned into a reality of friendship! And Daddy would say to me, "Shag, this is a good start; but think what the possibilities could be if you would just apply yourself!"

St. Louis Ambassadors Medal
Last night I went up to the 15th St Louis Southeast Salutes Alumni Dinner and I was stunned when they had me escorted to the platform and the St Louis Ambassadors presented me with one of fifty existing medals struck when the Arch was built! I started the chapter 15 years ago and never envisionalized how it would grow and thrive! I am awestruck by your love and the constant joy you bring to my life!

Making a list and making no progress!
I make a list every morning of what I want to accomplish! On my black and white notebook! Only then am I secure enough to put the list on my cell phone! I believe in living with technology but keeping my old safeguards with me! Same with friends! Like the old quote: "Make new friends but keep the old! One is silver; one is gold!" But here is the blessing of the cell phone--you keep their numbers closer to you at all times and can message them more Quickly! I make three calls a day! And I love the technology of staying a part of their lives!

My days are crammed full !
Today I started out with coffee with Jim McGill, ran into John Lohr who wanted help from me with his dad, had lunch with Dutch Meyr and stopped to visit with Paul Ebaugh and,oh yes, had a call from Senator Roy Blunt about how everyone was including the new Semo President!
I say that was a full day!

Miss Mary and blue!
I went to McAllisters for lunch today and ran into Mike Kasten and his wife, Priscilla! Bought back a lot of hilarious memories about "miss Mary" and her penchant for blue spray paint! She sprayed everything blue, even her shoes! One of my sons, Jim, who called things as he saw them said to me, " I love Miss Mary but she is a lunatic about some stuff, Mother!"
